What is “The One?”

By Sanita Jassal We find ourselves in the scenarios like in the movies, where the mood is set you look around and everyone is all smile but not near enough as happy as you are as you walk hand in hand with your man and for a split second the world has faded as you look into his eyes and realise that he is “the one”.

“The one”; now many of you may believe in the one but also many of you maybe reminiscing the faces of all those who we believed could have been the one.

Its funny how things change, how our brain and heart make us believe that this may be “the one” and before you know it your reliving it all again but the only difference is your looking at a different face.

I am not making the statement that there is no such thing as “the one”, (I am an optimistic after all) but how ever fun it may be discovering “the one” it also becomes a challenge.

It can be exhausting and it still amazes me how much heartbreak a human being can take, the heart is a wonderful thing!

How do we know he is the one, in a fairytale land it’s considered a feeling from a glance, a touch or a kiss but reality is different? Us Asian girls have to consider what will the family think? Will they approve of his job? Will the whole clan like him?

Living in a society where we have to think of everyone’s opinions may be respectful but this is not the way I believe love should be, I think we should experience a journey of ups and downs and go thought all those emotions with that other person as it is the only way to discover if he is “the one”.

What ever does not break us it only makes us stronger and it is you yourself who has to experience love, heartbreak, happiness, laughter, upset, joy and all those other emotions.

Therefore do we doubt our relationships before we even can fully examine and enjoy it, maybe we should stop questioning and start experiencing the answers for ourselves as the only people that should be satisfied are you and him!

So ladies go out and find “the one” and if you are full of happiness then you know your doing it right because at the end of the day it takes two to make a relationship work.

“True love is eternal, infinite, and always like itself. It is equal and pure, without violent demonstrations: it is seen with white hairs and is always young in the heart”….Honore de Balzac
