Muslims should follow the Prophet (PBUH) for salvation: Kazmi

ISLAMABAD: Muslims need to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for ensuring betterment in this world and life hereafter, said Minister for Religious Affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi.


He was addressing the All Pakistan Naat Competition here on Thursday. The event was organised jointly by Radio Pakistan (RP) and Pakistan Television (PTV).

He said admiring the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) is a praiseworthy act, as Allah (The Almighty) created the universe for him and He himself eulogizes the last messenger. He appreciated RP and PTV for keeping the tradition of holding Naat competitions every year alive.

Later, the minister gave away prizes to the winners of the competition. In the under-15 boys’ category, Junaid Malik from Azad Kashmir clinched the first position, Muhammad Hassan from NWFP second and Shahzad Liaquat from Punjab third.

In the under-15 girl’s category, Anam Anwar from Sindh grabbed the first position, Aqsa Kazmi from NWFP second and Naureena Imtiaz from Punjab third.

In 15 to 25 years age category for men, Abdul Rauf Chisti from Balochistan got the first position, Abdul Samad from Punjab second and Mudassar Masood from NWFP third.

In the same age category for women, Chand Miraj from NWFP clinched the first position, Maryam Khatoon from Islamabad second, while Saeeda Babara from Punjab third.

The winners were awarded 12,000 rupees along with a Holy Quran and copies of books on Seerat of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The runner-ups were given 10,000 rupees along with a Holy Quran and books on Seerat. Those who came third received 8, 000 rupees along with Holy Quran and books on Seerat.
