DESIMAG: Interview with Peter Ameri….
We caught up with Face of Asia 2009 Peter Ameri.
DESIMAG: Where are you from originally?
Peter: I live in Manchester, but my ethnic origin is Anglo Indian Iranian
DESIMAG: What did you do before modelling?
P: I was doing my Masters degree in Fiction Film Production and acting in different TV Series and commercials.
DESIMAG: Was it difficult to become a model, what challenges did you face?
P: Becoming a model was not an easy journey; there are many personal challenges that one has to face in terms of discipline, both in dietary requirements and physical training. But, these obstacles are achievable with determination and belief in yourself.
DESIMAG: When you started modelling?
P: I started modelling early this year. Family, friends and colleagues suggested that i should go for modelling as they thought i had a unique look and the character and charisma to enter the modelling industry.
DESIMAG: Why did you choose to work with Naila Mughal? How did she become your Manager?
P: Many people have recommended Naila to me and through my own research, and first hand experience i discovered that Naila works at a high professional standard and is a key figure in the industry. I found out about Naila through a personal friend, who indicated that she has managed famous Bollywood Artistes and decided that this is the type of manager i would like to work along side.
DESIMAG: What is she like to work with?
P: An absolute delight. Very dedicated, fully focused and always bringing out the best in me.
DESIMAG: What agency did you work with and why?
P: I have worked with various professional agencies on the grounds of their professional approach and reputation of being reliable and efficient.
DESIMAG: Who is your inspiration?
P: Ben Kingsley is my inspiration. I have met him on several occasions and i truly admire him as an individual and an artiste. DESIMAG: What level of education do you hold?

P: i have a Masters degree in Fiction Film Production.
DESIMAG: Do you have any Acting experiences as well as your Modelling?
P: Yes. Where do i begin! I have been involved in acting from the age of 14 onwards. I have pursued it both academically and professionally, and have learned and loved every moment.
DESIMAG: What projects are you working on at present?
P: At the moment the i have a few films in the pipeline, which i will be starring in. The names of the films have not yet been finalised, but when i know, I’ll keep you posted.
DESIMAG: If someone wants to follow your footsteps, what advice would you give them?
P: Firstly be true to yourself. If acting/modelling is what you intend to pursue then make your dream become a reality through hard work and discipline. At the same time have a back up plan. So do your studies, and pay attention in class, as i always tell my little brother.
DESIMAG: Whats your favourite dish and restaurant in the UK?
P: I really love Chicken Kebabs from my parents Restaurant, Turkish Flavours in Cheadle, Manchester. Fresh food, fresh Naan, and a happy tummy. It's a formula that can't go wrong!
DESIMAG: What’s your star sign?
P: Aquarius
DESIMAG: 5 Words which describe modelling to you?
P: Confidence, character, charisma, beauty and diversity.
DESIMAG: What challenges have you faced from being in the Modelling industry, is it easy to get into?
P: I have been told by agencies in the past that i was not photogenic and i needed to work on my image. Naturally, the type of individual i am, i took it on the chin and was not disheartened, but motivated to make people understand that i am dedicated in what i do and will always bring about success.
DESIMAG: What was it like winning Mr Face of Asia? Did you know you had it in the bag at an early stage or was it a total surprise?
P: It was a big surprise. I guess i anticipated it to some extent, but for me the whole journey and experience up until that point was truly valuable as i made some great friends at the contest.
DESIMAG: Peter Ameri in 5 Years?
P: I wish to be a well established actor and model, producing great films for the public to love for many years after.
