We caught up with Naresh K the versatile model and actor set to hit the Big Screens by storm! Find out why he thinks modeling is very competitive, how woking for Vogue & GQ has been a journey for him and how he keeps his body so fit!

DesiMag: What type of model are you?

Naresh: I believe I am a very versatile model and a bit of a chameleon as I can adapt and accommodate to any look and environment as I have done copious amounts of commercial and international modelling assignments from London Fashion weeks to India (Lakme/HDIL) couture Fashion weeks and have modelled for print/editorial Ad campaigns that have appeared in Vogue, GQ, L’officeill to name a few and several  Ad-films.

 

DesiMag: How did you meet Bollywoods Major UK Manager Naila Mughal?

Naresh: Well I had come across Naila’s website which was recommended to me, which showed how connected she was throughout the entertainment industry. The website showcased major projects she had done which quite frankly really impressed me. So then I thought why not give it a shot, contacted Naila arranged a meeting and well the rest is history.
 
DesiMag: Naila Mughal Manages the likes of John Abraham and Dino Morea in the UK, How does it feel to have Naila Mughal as your Manager?

Naresh: Having Naila as my manager I find myself to be very lucky individual and she is very hardworking and has a substantial amount of knowledge and experience about the entertainment industry. This will allow me to take right directions under her guidance to reach our goal.

DesiMag: Rumour has it that your moving away from modeling and moving onto acting, is this true?

Naresh: I’ve always had a passion for performing arts from school plays to theatrical performances and studying the art at London, Birmingham, Acting schools and modelling is a good stepping stone to get into the acting.

DesiMag: How long have you been modeling for? How hard is it to get into modeling?

Naresh: Modelling began as a part-time job while at university but as time went buy I took it more seriously as I began to get alot of work.

Yes I think Modeling is one of the most competitive industries to break into. There are many aspiring models all over the world, all vying for the same thing. The number of models out there, far outnumbers the amount of modelling jobs, which also makes it tough. While it isn't impossible, it takes a lot of effort and dedication to pursuing a modeling career (not to mention knowing someone in the industry)

 
DesiMag: Who have you modelled for and how did you get the hook up?

Naresh: I have modelled for many international brands including TVC for Nokia, print and Editorial Ad campaigns for  Paul Smith London, Kenneth Cole, Ben Sherman, face of JJ Valaya to name a few.  Well regarding hook ups I personally believe that but you have got to be pushy and determined to get a foothold in such a competitive line. Have patience and grit and the work will definitely come to you! As being persistent is the key.
 
DesiMag: Advice for young aspiring models who want to follow your footsteps?

Naresh: My advice would be to be to remain positive, work hard and live a healthy lifestyle which includes a healthy diet, training regime and be determined, and work will come to you through persistency and always remain professional.
 

DesiMag: Tell us about your fitness regime and how you stay in shape?

Naresh: I am a very active individual so sports and weight-training is a part of my everyday life to stay in shape.  I have devised a special nutritional diet plan and successful training regime which incorporates 6 small portion meals every 2 to 3 hours low carbohydrate hi protein diet and working out 6 days a week.
 
DesiMag: Where are you based?

Naresh: At the moment I am currently working in India but travel frequently for work in the UK.
 
DesiMag: What excites you about your job?

Naresh: What excites and interests me about Acting and Modeling is that firstly it’s something that I enjoy doing and is not really a job but a passion and no one job is always the same it allows me to be very versatile which makes it quite interesting.
 

Naresh: My future plans are to hopefully make a mark as an established actor and to use my success for good causes and to inspire others.

DesiMag: Why did you choose to become Manager to Naresh?
 
Naila Mughal: When i first met Naresh, i instantly felt that he has the potential to pursue a acting career. He is very hard working, talented, enthusiastic and very focused. He also has a great physique and sticks to his strict nutrition plan to maintain a good body. He is very established in his modelling career internationally, and has had good acting experience, and I feel that with the right opportuniites he should go far. I feel that i made a good decision of becoming his manager, and will support him the best way i can.
