Amitabh Bachchan honoured by Indian president
Superstar Amitabh Bachchan was among the stars celebrated by the Indian president at the centenary celebrations of Indian cinema in Chennai.
A total of 41 Bollywood actors were honoured at the four-day event, including Amitabh, Sridevi, Rekha, Javed Akthar, Ramesh Sippy, Kiran and Randhir Kapoor.
Writing on Twitter, the 70-year-old star said: “T 1167 -What a momentous evening in Chennai, where South Indian Film Industry celebrates 100 yrs of Cinema and felicitates all languages !!
“T 1167 -Thank you SIFCC and the CM of T’Nadu, for giving us this honour respect and dignity by the hands of the President of India, no less.”
Legends of the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam industries were also honoured at the event.
