Harvey Nichols prepares to open its first store in Azerbaijan

Exclusive department store chain, Harvey Nichols, is preparing to open its new store in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan this summer.

The new department store will be located in the country’s main shopping destination, Globus Plaza, in a 80,000 square feet building spanning three floors, set to house fashion, beauty, accessories as well as a spa and restaurant.

Harvey Nichols new licensee has selected Futura’s EPOS and retail management solution to support the fourty cash registers, which will be located throughout the store, to help oversee management information. Graham Symes, an independent financial consultant for the licensee commented: “We chose Futura because of its suitability for the multi-disciplinary rigours of a department store and its strengths in fashion.”

The premium department store chain currently operates fifteen stores across the global, with the majority of its retail locations in the UK, alongside stores in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Dubai and Turkey. Harvey Nichols is reportedly preparing to open its first European store, outside the UK, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands by 2016.
