Patty Jenkins’s Wonder Woman 1984 starring Gal Gadot in the title role

Anticipation has been building for everyone to go back to the theatres to get the full cinematic experience. After “Tenet”“Wonder Woman 1984” is the next blockbuster to be released by Warner Bros. in theatres and fans have been excited to see Diana Prince’s next adventure. Directed by Patty Jenkins, the film stars Gal Gadot, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal and Chris Pine, and will follow Diana as she comes across not one, but two new foes: Max Lord and the Cheetah. In a virtual held world press conference, director Patty Jenkins said, “It feels really great to finally share something with the world.” She continued to say that while the first film was all about creating Wonder Woman, with #WW84, the story came from what she thought Wonder Woman would want to say to the world.

Speaking about the global theme, producer Charles Roven said: “I think it was just the exact right time for somebody who was courageous and strong but also empathetic and truthful and loving. So what’s not to embrace in that?” Speaking about the impact of seeing strong women on screen, Wonder Woman Gal Gadot said: “I didn’t have the opportunity to see all of these strong female characters and now seeing it, and seeing the way it affects my daughters but also boys and men, all different types of people. It’s so powerful and so strong. I feel very, very grateful that I have the opportunity to be a part of this.” Chris Pine who returns as Steve Trevor, Diana’s love interest said: “He’s scarred by the trauma that can be the modern world, he’s closed himself off. She opens his heart again to vulnerability and that’s what that romance is: his heart opening up again.”

Pedro Pascal, who plays Max Lord said; “I call it the ‘Patty Jenkins’ experience. You can’t get away with something that is typical. It has to be complete, and have all the risks, all the danger, and ultimately all of humanity, however dark the character is… I didn’t know if I would be able to get there, but I owe it to my director.” Actress Kristin Wiig who will play Barbara Minerva and Cheetah, also spoke about her character. She said, “We didn’t want it to be this typical mousey-girl-turned-villain. We really wanted to know what it is about her that makes her so lonely and so invisible and what really it is that she wants.”The follow-up to the 2017 blockbuster, “Wonder Woman”“Wonder Woman 1984” is distributed by Warner Bros.
