PK Review: Not a musical but a jam packed film

Director: Rajkumar Hirani

Cast: Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Anushka Sharma

Success after success, the creators of hit movie 3 idiot’s returns with PK, a film with very big message. Operating globally, in countries famously over-sensitive about religion, they’ve managed to make a movie that brazenly ridicules our blind faith in god, and exposes the manipulations of godmen who feed off it for profit. Does this sound familiar?

PK (played by Khan) speaks Bhojpuri, and has bulging eyes that seldom blink, arched eyebrows, protruding ears, (those famous ears) and blood-red lips from permanently chewing paan.

In the film represents Value. When he’s told that only God can help him, he sets off earnestly to find God, discovering in the process our hypocrisies, our prejudices and our misguided obsession with religion.

Hirani’s well-oiled formula has made this film a huge success from the get go. Packed with sharp dialogue and humour, its a must see.

If you have’nt seen it, watch it this weekend!
